The Cornwall Christmas Bear Fair held on the 23rd November 2008
at The Lostwithiel Community Centre, Cornwall.
Just a few pictures of the day and the winners of the competitions. What everyone
says is so nice about our Bear Fairs is the atmosphere and for that we thank you the exhibitors and all the lovely visitors
that come along to browse, buy and enjoy.

The winner of the Best Dressed Christmas Bear was Berryl White
of Tamerton Teddies. Berryl's entry was a lovely tableaux representing the top of a Christmas cake and even
included a hand made cracker. A stunning entry and well deserved win for Berryl. The standard of workmanship of
the entries was very very high and we would like to thank all who entered.

Our winner for the Best Dressed Christmas Stand was Janet Swift
of Maylen Bears. The Christmas trees on the stand were all hand knitted as were the Christmas pudding decorations
which each contained a Ferror Rocher chocolate - absolutely stunning.
Janet was quite clearly speechless when her name was announced.
Well done Janet - a lovely display.

A big thank you also to Charlie from Charlie Bears
who made a surprise appearance and kindly donated a prototype of a new bear, called Charlie, to our Free Prize Draw. I know that lots of the visitors had their fingers crossed that their
ticket would be drawn out and his inclusion in the Draw caused lots of interest. Lots of visitors recognised Charlie
from QVC and cameras were busy clicking as she chatted with stallholders and visitors.

Shown left are the entries for the Best Dressed Christmas Bear competition.
I loved the little blue bear (right), which was entered by a little girl called Emily and was all her own work. I don't
Emily could have been more than 5 or 6 years old - a new bear artist in the making I think !!! Sharon Aish
(Bearly Sane Bears), entered 'The Office Chistmas Party' and the bear on the photocopier raised lots of laughs.
Brenda Seeley of Bramble Bears entered a beautiful delicate 'Snow Queen' style bear dressed in a lovely turquoisey
blue cape with hood - really lovely. Sharon Pritchard of Maybug Bears had made a traditional Christmas
bear with a little robin on his paw, a jolly red scarf and some holly - another stunning entry. A very difficult
choice for the visitors and there was lots of pondering going on at the voting table.
